Abstract

Introduction: Obstetric violence is a social problem, in which the woman is left in the background in the parturitive scenario. Objective: Identify situations of obstetric violence from the report of postpartum registered in the Family Health Strategy of a municipality in the interior of Minas Gerais. Methods: This is descriptive research, conducted with the application of a form to 80 postpartum women registered in the Family Health Units and Tabbles in Electronic Spreadsheet. Results: The results had 18 to 45 years old. Regarding the type of delivery, 33 (41.25%) were cesarean sections, indicating that it is still higher than the World Health Organization (WHO). Among the women who performed normal delivery, 31 (65.96%) reported that the touch exam was recurring and 32 (68.09%) said that medication was used to accelerate uterine contractions. Most had the presence of escort, but 6 (7.50%) reported that the escort was not allowed. Most of the postpartum 52 (65%) were unaware of the meaning of the term obstetric violence, 59 (73.75%) women reported that they never suffered obstetric violence and 21 (26.25%) have already suffered. Conclusion: There is a need for greater focus on health education activities on the subject, especially for pregnant women and their caregivers since pre-concept and prenatal care.
