Abstract

In a fiscal adjustment context, there’s a search for revenue and spending equilibrium. However, some spending increase government efficiency, That is the case of Information Technology expenses - TI. This paper shows in, an innovative approach, the quantitative relation between IT spending and the average reply time supported by Lei de Acesso à Informação (like the Freedom of Information Act in the USA). Using panel data analysis, we found that an increase in IT spending reduces the average reply time.
