Just one more episode: the potential of using podcasts to approach neomedieval digital practices in the classroom

Magic, dragons, witches and castles. What are we talking about? Possibly, when you hear these words, you automatically associate them with images from a specific period of History: the Middle Ages. The concept of this period, agreed by the French, has been and continues to be a source of debate. The aim of this article is to address this issue, but throught a wider lens of analysis. With the rise of digital media and the internet, the Middle Ages have come to be debated in new spaces and have acquired unique contours, to such an extent that the French concept is no longer sufficient to cover the demands of shared productions of the digital universe. That said, the concept of neomedievalism is the most appropriate for analyzing representations of the Middle Ages in various digital media, whether or not they are related to the historical period. Thus, we are led to dialog with two other concepts that deal with historiographical publications in diferente environments: Public History and Digital History. Among these, we selected the school environment to ask: how can digital practices become tools for Teaching History? To answer this question, we chose two podcasts, "Medievalíssimo" and "Estudos Medievais", produced by the historian community, with accessible language and a historical-scientific basis. In this sense, our proposal is to raise theoretical discussions and suggest approaches to the use of podcasts as a powerful teaching tool in History classes in Basic Education.
