Different rocks have been used since the beginning of civilization as gemstones for adornment and symbol of power. Examples are Lapis Lazuli, obsidian, moldavite. Vivid colors have always been highly valued, with an emphasis on green, red and blue. In this way, saussuritized and uralitized gabroid lithotypes by hydrothermalism in the municipality of Formiga-MG, fit within the desired colors, presenting great aesthetic appeal for use in jewelry such as cut, polished, rolled gemstones and plates for making decorative objects, as well as using as finishing material in civil works, their use is a pioneer in this research. To evaluate the gemological (beauty, aesthetics, hardness) and commercial potential of two gabroid lithotypes in the municipality, through polishing, cutting and making semi-jewels. The samples were collected in the rural location of Cachoeira da Cerâmica, visually evaluated for texture, color and absence of defects (oxidation and fractures), fractionated with a hammer for cutting, polishing, lapping, perforated and pinned. Lapping was performed with a cooled cutting disc, template and horizontal cutting disc and polishing of the facets, measurement of processing costs and market acceptance by the jewelery and lapidary team. The disclosure of the gems was made in the local and web media. The lithotypes presented excellent finishing, brightness, homogeneity, aesthetic appeal, absence of fractures and stains, making their price competitive in the market. Three silver rings were made, two with cabochons and one square-cut, in addition to pendants with rolled (polished) samples, which generated approval from the public who knew and purchased them. The beautiful colors of the final product, originality, low cost, absence of defects, very low environmental impacts for its mining and ease of access make these gemstones great alternatives for use in semi-jewels and handicrafts, which can generate income and a jeweler pole in the municipality.
