Adaptación transcultural de un instrumento de evaluación para la funcionalidad después del tratamiento del cáncer de cabeza y cuello al portugués brasileño

Resumen

Introducción: El cáncer de cabeza y cuello y sus terapias pueden impactar significativamente la funcionalidad y salud de los pacientes. Es crucial que los profesionales estén atentos a posibles deficiencias estructurales y funcionales, limitaciones en las actividades, restricciones en la participación y a los factores ambientales y personales que influyen en el contexto del paciente. Objetivo: El objetivo de este estudio fue realizar una adaptación transcultural al portugués brasileño de un instrumento de evaluación para la funcionalidad después del tratamiento del cáncer de cabeza y cuello. Métodos: Este fue un estudio metodológico realizado en cuatro etapas: traducción, síntesis, retrotraducción, revisión por comité de expertos y preprueba. Dos traductores bilingües, cuya lengua materna era el portugués, tradujeron el instrumento al portugués y participaron en la síntesis de la traducción. Posteriormente, dos traductores cuya lengua materna era el inglés realizaron la retrotraducción. La validación de contenido fue realizada por un comité de diez profesionales, quienes evaluaron las equivalencias semánticas, idiomáticas, culturales y conceptuales de cada ítem del instrumento. La preprueba de la versión adaptada se realizó con una muestra de 40 pacientes. Resultados: En la traducción, se identificaron tres discrepancias entre los traductores, las cuales fueron resueltas durante la fase de síntesis de la traducción. Las dos retrotraducciones confirmaron que la versión en portugués reflejaba fielmente el contenido de la versión original. En la validación de contenido, el acuerdo promedio entre los evaluadores fue del 95%. Después de la preprueba, se realizaron ajustes, obteniendo así la versión brasileña de IAFCCP-br. Conclusión: El IAFCCP-br fue adaptado al contexto brasileño después de la adaptación transcultural.
