This article explores the potential of comic books as didactic tools for preserving the historical memory of the Shoah, focusing on the graphic novels A Family Secret and The Search by Eric Heuvel, and the graphic adaptation of The Diary of Anne Frank by Ari Folman and David Polonsky. All three works were either produced by or endorsed by the Anne Frank House Museum. By reflecting on the Nazi regime’s policy of erasure, the article reinforces the role of memory institutions such as Yad Vashem and the Anne Frank House Museum. It analyzes how these comics contribute to the historical awareness of young readers and help preserve the memory of the events portrayed. The study also highlights the main narrative and visual features of the works and examines the artistic strategies used to merge fictional elements with historical contexts
