EXPOGRAPHY “FIGURES OF SPEECH”: THE MULTIDISCIPLINARY DESIGN OF VIRGIL ABLOH

Abstract

This article studies the possibilities of an expography prioritizing and enhancing in its organization the multidisciplinarity of action in the area of design, based on the itinerant exhibition "Figures of Speech" at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago (USA). The study seeks to investigate the visibility of aspects of the multifaceted production of the afro-american designer Virgil Abloh (1980-2021). The analysis method makes a parallel between the organization of the catalog book and the expographic design solutions carried out by the team involved in the project. In the end, it can be seen that the methodology adopted by the team achieves results that visually edit in a well-demarcated way the areas and forms of expressions of the designer with the end user.
