Abstract

This article reflects on the relationship between Ernesto Oroza’s concept of technological disobedience and the Solarpunk imaginary. Based on the Cuban context, technological disobedience is understood as a material practice forged by scarcity and popular technical autonomy, enabling a non-alienated relationship with technology. Solarpunk, in turn, is conceived as an aesthetic and speculative movement that imagines sustainable and collective futures grounded in the integration between human beings and nature. By bringing together a concrete practice and a fabulatory aesthetic, the text seeks to explore ways of relating to technology that escape the logic of capital. The convergence between these two fields highlights hope, imagination, and disobedience as political and pedagogical forces capable of inspiring other possible futures.
