Abstract

This work proposes the analysis of Brazilian female rap album covers released between 2020 and 2024, with the aim of identifying the recurring elements of visual language and their contribution to female empowerment on the national scene. The study initially considered the influences of hip-hop culture and the female rap movement, which highlight the relationship between aesthetics, identity and the protagonism of the artists. The methodology was based on authors such as Gomes Filho (2008), Teberosky and Coll (2000), Santaella (2002) and Silveira (2018), for the classification of visual elements such as color, shape, texture, harmony and semantics. This approach allowed a detailed examination of the covers listed, in order to understand the symbologies transmitted by these representations. In conclusion, the elements in the compositions transform each cover into an artifact of visual potential, contributing significantly to the audience's visual memory.
