Abstract

This study analyzes issues related to the teaching of exhibition design and its practice for art museums in Rio de Janeiro. As for the teaching, the lack of conceptual definition of the terms, the interdisciplinarity of the topics and the multiplicity of nomenclature adopted for similar or very similar activities generate conflicts. As far as the practice in art museums is concerned, exhibition facilitates the visitor experience. However, its deployment is not capable of addressing the population’s gaps of knowledge.
