Abstract

The interest of students in the educational context is fundamental to the teaching-learning process, given its association with positive feelings, value, and knowledge. A challenge in research on interest in the school context is the measurement of this construct. In this article we aim to present an analysis focused on self-report instruments – Likert scales – developed and/or used to measure students' interest in the school context. To do this, we carried out a survey of scientific articles published in national and international journals. The articles were selected through searches in the CAPES and ERIC Journal Portal, using the descriptors “interest”, “interest”, “escala de interesse”, “scales of interest”, “interesse na educação” and “interest in education”. The results showed that using Likert scales to measure interest is varied. In addition, a scarcity of national studies that use these scales was identified, unlike in international publications.
