The following text is translated to English: “The text now translated consists of the transcription of one of several lectures given by Léon Duguit at the Faculty of Law of Buenos Aires, in August 1911, published in the work Les transformations générales du Droit Privé depuis le Code Napoléon. Paris: Félix Alcan, 1912, p. 1-22. The translation presented followed the transcription contained there, without modification as to the structure of the text, nor to the formatting of the footnotes and the notation of the bibliographic references. Any observations were included in brackets.
