SOCIAL JUSTICE FOR THE ILO FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE REALIZATION OF DECENT LABOR AND GUIDELINES FOR THE YEARS TO COME

Today, we must seek a more equitable distribution of legal assets in the world of work through the implementation of social justice, especially in times of neoliberal and exclusionary economic globalization that deepens social and labor inequalities at local, regional and global levels. The idea of social justice was strengthened in 1919 with the creation of the International Labor Organization (ILO). In view of the centenary of the ILO in 2019, the study revisited the concept of social justice considering the “Spirit of Philadelphia” due to successive changes in Brazilian and global labor legislation that are detrimental to decent work. By preventing the concrete implementation of social justice in labor relations, there will be one justice for the oppressed and another for the elites, which is no longer sustainable in the current era of human rights. Using the dialectical method and bibliographic research techniques, the study analyzed the meaning of social justice for the ILO and the concreteness of decent work in dark times of neoliberal globalization, without exhausting the existing questions, but contributing with relevant and necessary reflections for the years to come
