Abstract

This section examines contemporary educational inequalities from a critical perspective, articulating social justice, public policies and school practices. Drawing on recent scholarship, it discusses how inequalities are reconfigured within educational systems despite expanded access, and how factors such as race, gender, territory and socioeconomic conditions continue to generate exclusion. The role of public policies, teacher education and pedagogical practices in building more equitable education is highlighted, emphasizing the need for integrated approaches committed to social emancipation.
