Active Methodologies (AMs) are based on the principle that students are the main actors in learning, playing an active role in the pursuit and construction of their knowledge, with the teacher acting as a mediator during this process. In the quest to evaluate and identify the conceptions that undergraduate students from a Public University in the State of Minas Gerais, enrolled in the Biological Sciences course, have about AMs, the proposed theme becomes relevant to gather information about the acquired conceptions. This is to verify whether the learning about the theme has been significant and effective for the proper implementation of AMs. For this purpose, through a quali-quantitative research approach, using a questionnaire for data collection, we aim to understand the conceptions and formative aspects related to AMs in the teaching of Sciences and Biology. According to the analysis, we found that there is an approximate percentage among undergraduates regarding their conception of AMs, with 18 students (47.36%) presenting responses considered within the expected range and 20 students (52.63%) with responses below expectations. In the academic environment, not only the approach to the subject but also the dynamics of the classes themselves reflect on students' knowledge about AMs, as teachers can incorporate this strategy into their lessons. This allows students to experience and reflect on their learning with AMs through self-analysis.
