Abstract

The present research aims to analyze theoretical frameworks addressing Coteaching in Bilingual Education, a collaborative educational perspective that recognizes educational diversity and its application in bilingual contexts. Using the State of Knowledge methodology (Morosini, 2015) from a qualitative analysis perspective (Minayo, 2009), we explored studies by Marilyn Friend (2008a, 2008b), Andrea Honigsfeld, and Maria G. Dove (2008, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2020), delving into implications for teaching quality. The analyses focus on two categories: (a) Identification of components that configure the practice of Shared Teaching, and (b) specific implications and contributions to teaching quality in bilingual contexts. In synthesis, this approach reveals the relevance of Coteaching in Bilingual Education, and creating an environment conducive to the holistic development of students in educational settings aiming for fluency in two languages.
