This research was carried out with Chemistry professors from Triângulo Mineiro, who worked in emergency remote teaching, implemented during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. It starts from the understanding that Chemistry is considered a difficult subject for students to understand, requiring abstractions and lacking experimental activities and other methodological strategies. For this, semi-structured interviews were carried out with twelve teachers, seeking to understand the strategies and difficulties faced during this period. The analysis was based on references that discuss the insertion of information and communication technologies in Chemistry classes and in official documents that regulate emergency remote teaching. It is hoped that this study will enable reflections on the training needs of future teachers, as well as the offer of continuing education courses for teachers in practice, aiming to improve the teaching and learning processes in Chemistry in basic education.
