This article aims to characterize the National Seaboard of Angola (RMN). To this end, we analyzed the way in which the current NMR is constituted, how it works and, using recommendations, certain changes were indicated for its improvement. Thus, the efficiency of the current NMR was problematized, based on the hypothesis that it still does not correspond to the needs that the Angolan coast presents, from the point of view of its monitoring of variations in the average sea water level. In order to achieve the proposed objective, the documentary and bibliographic research technique was used, as well as the deductive method with a quantitative approach. After analyzing the data collected in the field, it was concluded that the current NMR does not yet meet the needs, and in order for it to establish itself as an efficient monitoring system, it will need to be improved based on some recommendations presented in this article.
